Reactive Flame Retardants

Reactive flame retardants containing benzocyclobutene (BCB) groups are a class of functional compounds formed by incorporating BCB groups into the flame retardant molecular structure.

PRODUCT DETAILS

They not only retain the excellent inherent properties of BCB monomers, such as low dielectric constant, low dielectric loss, high thermal stability, and low coefficient of thermal expansion, but can also participate in polymerization through their reactive functional groups. This allows them to become an integral part of the polymer material, thereby achieving durable, non-migrating flame retardancy.

 

Product Features

  • This product contains multiple BCB active groups and can cure with unsaturated resins under heating conditions.
  • While providing excellent flame retardancy, it can further enhance the Tg and heat resistance of the formulation system, with minimal impact on the electrical properties of the system.
  • Free of polar groups, making it suitable for flame retardant applications in low-dielectric materials.

 

Application Characteristics

Desytek® flame retardants can undergo addition curing with monomers or resins containing unsaturated bonds. The reaction forms a rigid three-dimensional structure based on benzene rings and six-membered rings, which enhances the Tg and thermal resistance of the formulation system while reducing the CTE of the cured material.

Desytek New Materials has joined hands with Wuhan University, Hubei University, Jianghan University and industry chain institutions to establish the "Joint Innovation Center for Optoelectronic Materials" to create an open R&D platform, expand the "industry-university-research" cooperation mechanism in related fields, and jointly carry out basic research, application development and talent training.
